About "Weihe"
glider

During
1949, inthe national flying festival in Ruma, Maks Arbajter won
the first place with Vaja. Next year, with the very same Vaja he
went to the World’s Gliding Championship in Erebro Sweden,
where he won the third place. Soon after almost one hundred Vaja’s
were built in the country. On local and national
championships
all the pilots were flying Vajas so that the very best could become
the champion. We all loved flying Vajas. It gave us opportunities
to win gliding badges, set records and enter championships. Franc
Mordej won the first diamond badge in Yugoslavia
on a Vaja glider. He flew from Vršac to Katerini near Thessalonica
in Greece; over 500 km.
Piloting Vajas we were gathering flying and competition’s experience.
All of us had a nice time flying Vajas. As for the out landing -
it was excellent.

These
lines are dedicated to an old friend of mine a very good
fellow Živa Frenc with a message to the grand children:
"At least we had flown Vajas"
